A grounded realistic approach to Optimism isn’t about bypassing I.e. always being “happy” and “cheerful”. Instead, optimism can be a powerful stimulant for hope in today’s world where we are experiencing constant challenges and where most of us feel overloaded, isolated or stressed.
With realistic optimism, you don't just expect the best and hope that things will go well. Nor do you let yourself see and expect only the worst. Instead, you look at the "big picture," the good and the bad.
We invite you to explore Optimism and open yourself up to new ideas, new experiences and new possibilities.
Through our 6 weeks together, we will teach you tools to strengthen the optimism muscle. You will be able to lean on your own experiences, proving to yourself that you really can move towards hope, trust, purpose, and pleasure.
We will look at six key areas of a woman’s life as it relates to optimism and apply new tools that can unlock unlimited possibility - regardless of how deep your negative beliefs are.
Overview:
Week 1 - Self-Awareness - 10:00 - 2:00 pm
*First week 4 hours. All other weeks 2 hours.
By learning our natural response to situations we can better understand ourselves and where we cut off opportunity and where we embrace it.
Week 2 - Self-Trust - 12:00 - 2:00 pm
Trusting yourself makes choices easier, lets you express your unique talents and gives you greater optimism and joy.
Week 3 - Self-Acceptance - 12:00 - 2:00 pm
It’s not enough to simply embrace the good, valuable, or positive about yourself; to embody true self-acceptance, you must also embrace the less desirable. Learn how optimism plays a role in your self-esteem and self-acceptance.
Week 4 - Self-Sabotage - 12:00 - 2:00 pm
When you look for opportunity in the difficulty, instead of the difficulty in the opportunity, it fuels you with optimism. Learn how to transform your mindset when tunnel vision, self-sabotage and an all-or-nothing attitude sets in.
Week 5 - Self-Expression - 12:00 - 2:00 pm
How we share and express ourselves to others forms the basis of our personality, as understood by everyone but us, and sets the tone for our entire lives. It’s a vital aspect of life to pay attention to, especially if you want to feel more understood and more in tune with the people you care about. Optimism can help you to accept your feelings and decide to act accordingly.
Week 6 - Self Healing - 12:00 - 2:00 pm
Optimism is a hopeful, positive outlook on the future, yourself, and the world around you. It is a key part of resilience, the inner strength that helps you get through tough times. By definition, optimism helps you see, feel, and think positively. But it has extra benefits you might not know about—optimism helps keep up your physical health too!
Over our life, we encounter overwhelming experiences such as betrayal, repression and disappointment. All of these experiences add to the self-protective roadblocks that may now be doing more harm than good in your life.
It can feel hard to trust that the best outcome is in fact possible. However, optimism frees us up to consider new options and change our lives, for the better. It helps us look to the future and create expansively evolving realities.
